Italy is the sixth largest economy in the world and the third largest in EU. The Italian economy is characterised by strong traditions in manufacturing, design, and the food industry, while at the same time navigating the opportunities and challenges that come with rapid technological change and increasing competitive pressure in global markets. Established family businesses are adopting new solutions and methods, innovative companies are growing in number, and the public sector is placing greater emphasis on digital transformation. The delegation offers a unique opportunity to engage with this important market of some 60 million consumers. Italy is one of Europe's largest consumer markets and has historically been a significant partner. Special emphasis will be placed on innovation, technology, economics, and the sectors where Iceland-Italy cooperation has the greatest potential for development.
