In celebration of Denmark’s and Greenland’s national days in June, the Danish-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce and the Greenlandic-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce are pleased to invite you to an open meeting featuring traditional smørrebrød and insightful presentations on the development of wind energy in Iceland and the potential application of Icelandic energy expertise in Greenland. The meeting will take place on 5 June at 16:30.
Iceland has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of green energy, and there are growing opportunities to export Icelandic expertise in this area. At the event, Ásgeir Margeirsson, Chairman of the Board at Qair, will discuss how Icelandic energy infrastructure know-how can be applied in Greenland.
The conversation around wind energy in Iceland is gaining momentum. Recently, Landsvirkjun signed a contract with Ístak for the construction of infrastructure for Iceland’s first wind farm, a project valued at approximately ISK 6.8 billion. Denmark is considered a global leader in wind energy and is often referred to as the land of wind power.
The French energy company Qair is among several companies currently developing wind farms across Iceland. Unnur María Þorvaldsdóttir, Head of Wind Energy at Landsvirkjun, and Ásgeir Margeirsson will discuss the future of wind energy in Iceland, upcoming projects, and the valuable lessons that can be learned from Denmark’s experience.
ÍSTAK is kindly offering guests traditional smørrebrød from Jómfrúin.
