The new ambassadors of Denmark, Canada, Sweden and the European Union presented their letters of credentials to Halla Tómasdóttir, the President of Iceland, in Bessastadir last week. This was the first handover ceremony of the new president, who took office on August 1.
The ambassadors are: Louise Calais, Ambassador of Sweden, Jennifer Hill, Ambassador of Canada, Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen, Ambassador of Denmark, and Clara Ganslandt, Ambassador of the European Union.
The chairmen of the bilateral business chambers of Iceland and the respective countries came to Bessastaðir for a reception on this occasion.
The International Council looks forward to the upcoming cooperation with the new ambassadors and welcomes them to their new posts in Iceland.
