A Successful Evening at Made in Poland: Great Food, Great Connections

Yesterday evening we had the pleasure of hosting Made in Poland, organised by the Polish-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Iceland.

It was a full house and a great success. We extend our special thanks to the Ambassador of Poland, who honoured us with his presence and opening remarks, and to the Embassy team for their fantastic collaboration in making this event possible.

Instead of a panel discussion, Ketill Berg Magnússon (Marel and POIS) held engaging conversations separately with Jón Örn Stefánsson (Kjötkompaníið) and Sigurður Haraldsson (Pylsumeistarinn).

Jón Örn shared how vital it is to know whom to approach when seeking the right connections. When Kjötkompaníið began exploring beef imports from Poland, it was through Ketill and Marel that he was introduced to the right people, making the process much easier than anticipated – despite the complexity of Icelandic tariffs.

When Sigurður arrived, he spoke about his decision to focus on authentic Polish sausages, produced without additives, using only pure ingredients, and made entirely within his own butchery and deli.

Following these conversations, guests enjoyed a tasting of high-quality Polish products – beef from Kjötkompaníið, sausages from Pylsumeistarinn, and the famous Tyskie beer imported by Mekka Wines & Spirits. The food was excellent, and the networking even better.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and participated. With the support of Polish and Icelandic companies, we look forward to making this event bigger and better each year!
